Accessibility Statement

This statement applies to www.homesafe-tci.co.uk. It was last reviewed on 9 September 2026.

Our commitment

Homesafe is a home contents insurance product for tenants, underwritten by Aviva Insurance Limited, arranged by Aon UK Ltd and administered by Wessex Group. This website is provided so tenants of participating councils and housing associations can find out about the policy and apply. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this site, whatever their ability or the technology they use to browse it.

How accessible this website is

This website was independently reviewed against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at Level AA on 7 August 2026, and we have worked through the issues that review identified. As things stand, we believe this website:

  • has a single, clearly structured page with one main heading, followed by sections and sub-sections in a logical order
  • keeps body text at a strong colour contrast throughout, including the text on our dark and red panels
  • shows a clear, visible outline around whichever link or button is currently selected when you navigate by keyboard
  • includes a “skip to main content” link as the first thing on the page for keyboard and screen reader users
  • respects your device’s “reduce motion” setting, so content does not fade or slide in if you’ve asked your operating system to limit animation
  • describes every meaningful image with text, and marks decorative images so screen readers skip over them
  • tells you before a link opens in a new tab
  • does not use autoplaying video, a carousel, a pop-up, or a cookie wall
  • does not block pinch-to-zoom, so you can enlarge the page on a phone or tablet
  • keeps phone numbers large and tappable, and lets you dial them directly from the page

What we’re aiming for

We are targeting conformance with WCAG 2.2 at Level AA. Homesafe is provided by a private company rather than a public sector body, so the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 don’t formally apply to this site. Because Homesafe is offered through councils and housing associations, though, we think it’s right to hold ourselves to the same standard those organisations are expected to meet.

Testing and known limitations

This site was reviewed by an accessibility specialist on 7 August 2026, using a mix of manual testing, browser tools and automated checks. We’ve addressed everything that review identified. We haven’t yet commissioned a full independent re-test of the fixes, and a single external review can’t catch everything, so there may still be things we’ve missed. If you come across a problem, we’d genuinely like to know about it — see below for how to tell us.
